Linktropy 4500 Offers Easy-to-Use Satellite Link Simulation
Washington, DC (Satellite 2006) - February 7, 2006 ─ Apposite™ Technologies, Inc. today announced that the Linktropy™ 4500, the company's high-precision network simulator, has been optimized to meet the unique requirements of satellite users. By combining an easy-to-use, browser-based interface with the capability to emulate even the most challenging satellite conditions, the Linktropy 4500 provides a convenient test tool for anyone using or considering a satellite network.
Compared to terrestrial wide-area networks, satellite-based networks experience long delay and high bit error rates that can adversely affect data, voice, and video communications. By using the Linktropy 4500 to test applications and equipment in the lab, users can identify performance limitations and validate potential solutions.
The Linktropy 4500 simulates bandwidth, delay, bit errors, congestion, and other important link characteristics independently in both directions while its highly precise algorithms help guarantee accurate results. With the ability to simulate bandwidths from 300 bits per second to 155 Mbps, delay up to 10 seconds, and bit error rates as low as 1x10-14, the Linktropy 4500 can emulate the full range of satellite link conditions.
