INTEROPNET TO INCLUDE EMULATED WAN IN SHOW NETWORK
Apposite's Linktropy 4500 Adds WAN Conditions to High-Speed Local Network
San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA ─ April 26, 2006 February 7, 2006 ─ CMP Media and Apposite™ Technologies today announced that the InteropNet, the network of the Interop trade show, will include emulated wide-area network (WAN) links between operation centers on the floor at Interop Las Vegas 2006. The emulated WAN environment is being constructed using Apposite's Linktropy 4500 WAN emulator.
The Linktropy 4500 is a high-precision, easy-to-use WAN emulation appliance. The Linktropy 4500 simulates WAN bandwidth, delay, loss, and other link conditions to emulate terrestrial, wireless, satellite or any other type of wide-area network.
Interop® Las Vegas 2006, produced by CMP Media, will take place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from April 30 to May 5, 2006. The InteropNet, managed from three network operations centers (NOCs) on the show floor, provides reliable, high-speed network services to all Interop exhibitors, conferences and meeting rooms. The Linktropy 4500 WAN emulators are installed on the InteropNet to allow two NOCs to function as remote facilities, connected over a WAN to the central NOC.

As a result, we are now able to demonstrate the effectiveness of management applications and devices even when operating remotely."
