Apposite Previews Linktropy 4.0 at Interop
New Version adds Network Condition Recorder and Player to Linktropy WAN Emulator
LAS VEGAS, NV (Interop) ─ April 29, 2008 ─ Apposite® Technologies, the leader in easy-to-use, professional quality WAN emulation products, began previewing Linktropy™ 4.0 today at the Interop trade show. Linktropy 4.0 adds a new link condition recorder and player to capture live network conditions and replay them through the Linktropy WAN emulator, further extending the product’s ease-of-use for testing the performance of applications in the lab.
Linktropy WAN emulation appliances simulate link bandwidth, delay, packet loss, congestion, and other network impairments to emulate terrestrial, internet, wireless, satellite or any other type of wide-area network. Due to their unique combination of ease-of-use, test lab-level precision, and unmatched prices, Linktropy WAN emulators are widely deployed by enterprise network managers, software developers, network equipment manufacturers, telecoms carriers, and military and government network designers.
The Linktropy 4.0 firmware adds new functionality to record actual network conditions and replay them through the Linktropy WAN emulator. The Linktropy Recorder monitors the delay and loss characteristics of the user's wide area network links to capture the full range of best and worst case conditions over an extended time period. Using the Linktropy Player, the recorded conditions can then be imported into the Linktropy WAN emulator and replayed to test the performance of applications in a repeatable test environment.
Linktropy 4.0 will be available for the Linktropy 4500, 7500, and 7500 PRO models starting in the second quarter of 2008.
Demonstrations of Linktropy 4.0 will continue in the Apposite booth (#2615) for the duration of the Interop trade show, April 29 – May 1, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
